If there is one maintenance task to never forget on your Dinamica, it is descaling! Here, I will show you step-by-step how to proceed with descaling and maintaining your Delonghi Dinamica. Follow the guide!
Delonghi bean-to-cup machines schedule a descaling after a defined number of uses. They are set with a water hardness parameter, indicating when the limescale level is too high. Frequent descaling will increase the lifespan of your machine and ensure a taste without alteration.

How to Start the Descaling Cycle on the Delonghi Dinamica?
- Prepare a large container to place under the steam and coffee spouts, and a descaling product. It is recommended to use the Delonghi descaler, which is particularly suitable for the brand’s machines.
- Turn on your Delonghi Dinamica and press the “Settings” tab in the main menu.
- Scroll through the menu to the “Maintenance” mode.
- Press “Ok,” then select “Descaling.”
For models without a screen (type 3535), follow this procedure:
- Turn off the machine.
- Press the settings button for 5 seconds.
- The intensity light will flash and the descaling light will turn red.
- Press “OK” to start the descaling cycle.
The Descaling Process
- Remove the water tank, empty it, and remove the filter.
- Pour the descaler into the water tank up to level A, add 1 liter of water to level B, and reposition the tank. Press “Ok.”
- Place an empty container under the spout with a 2-liter capacity.
- The descaling program starts, and the product flows through the coffee spout for about 2-3 minutes.
- The steam light will flash; turn the steam knob to 1 to activate descaling through the steam spout.
- The Delonghi Dinamica automatically performs several rinses to remove limescale residues inside the circuit. After about 35-40 minutes, the descaling process stops.
- Once descaling is complete, fill the tank with clear water up to the MAX level to rinse the machine and remove any descaler residue.
- Replace the container used to collect the descaling solution under the coffee and hot water spouts, then press “Ok.”
- Press “Ok” for the “Rinse confirm?” mode. The water will flow first from the coffee spout and then from the cappuccino spout.
- Once the tank is empty, refill it with clear water to the maximum level.
- Replace the container used for the descaling liquid under the cappuccino spouts and press “Ok.”
- At the end of the rinsing, empty and reinsert the drip tray and reposition the coffee grounds drawer. Press “Ok” to confirm the end of descaling. Fill the water tank to its maximum. Your machine is ready to use.
Which Descaler to Choose?
Its new formula is perfectly suited for your Delonghi Dinamica machine, with an action three times more powerful than a standard descaler. Non-corrosive and non-irritating, the Ecodecalk universal descaler is suitable for all types of coffee machines.

Why is Descaling So Important?
The water we consume has sometimes traveled through rocky circuits in several regions for months or even years. This is how it has enriched itself with calcium carbonate and magnesium in contact with rock masses.
Limescale is present in tap water, but also in bottled water. When heated, limescale forms white and hard plaques. These plaques will obstruct the conduits of your Delonghi Dinamica coffee machine.
Frequent maintenance and cleaning of your espresso grinder are crucial for prolonging the life of your machine and ensuring that your coffee retains its taste.
